Pittsburgh receiver Plaxico Burress has had a rough couple of years as he’s worked his way back into the NFL after serving prison time, and it seems his hopes of resurrecting a promising NFL career may be coming to an end.

According to USA Today Burress suffered a torn rotator cuff in practice on Thursday, which may sideline him for not only the season, but it could mark the end of his career.

Burress, who turns 36 next week, will reportedly undergo surgery on Monday.

The veteran receiver caught just 3 passes on 7 targets for 42 yards and one touchdown for Pittsburgh last season.
